Welcome to Kaipara Youth League 2025.

This youth league is essentially the next succession from the primary league we held at the end of last year. A little more serious but still heaps of fun. In this league we introduce a stop clock, 24 second shot clock and scoring via gameday ipad. This means when our young ballers venture into other competitions with more standardised basketball rules and fixtures, things are a little more familiar for them. Attached is a flyer outlining the details of the competition. Please read it carefully. The only change from the flyer is that the Under 12 game halves will be 12 minutes not 15. Everything else will remain the same.

The key difference from the primary competition is that players/parents and coaches make their own teams. 

Support for coaches at this tournament and throughout the year will be provided by Kaipara’s own Kalem Tana who will be present solely to assist coaches in the tournament. To confirm you are keen to coach please register via the following link.

A Heja coaching group will be set up by Kalem to receive direct assistance and advice. Note this group is for coaches of any ability but is primarily focussed on beginning coaches. Kalem will provide the following.

  • General Session Planning and activities.
  • Team culture and communication development.
  • Basketball technical.
  • Training session at local location demonstrating a basic training session for u14 age group. Location date TBC.
  • Observation, support and advice at youth league games.

To sign your team up please click the following link and go through the process. If not using a PC you will be required to have the gameday app installed on your phone. Having your team entered through gameday makes our lives a lot easier and will allow things to run smoothly on game day.

Once you register the team you will get emailed a Team Code. Thet Team code is needed for player registration. Once you have received the team code send it to parents to register their children via the player link below. Once that is done you are ready to go.

We have entered a Mixed Bag team in each grade for those players looking to join but cannot find a team. We will endeavour to find someone to coach or at least manage the team but unfortunately, we cannot guarantee training opportunities etc for these teams. The team codes for these teams are as follows.

Game Times:

U12 Games will run first likely starting around 3.30pm at the earliest. The rest of the draw will depend on entries into the competition. We are limited by space so we cannot allow any more than 6 teams in either grade.
